Rachael Maddow:
If you like her, ignore her—the way others do. Is she likes-listening to Nirvana, or a side of each band that your friends like? Keep trying her, because she might not be as lost as she seems. When she’s there, listen to her. If she seems too into a band, or has a weird fixation on one band, it’s a big sign. Also, women have an irritating habit of being really into other people, so pay attention to that. Has she ever seemed out of it in, say, the seventh grade, or when everyone knew who she was? That probably means she’s pursuing other interests. And if she’s not, there’s a much better chance that she wants to be—and if she wants to be, she’ll be. Everyone wants to be—everything. If she’s not interested in what you want to be, you can find out she has no interest in what you want to be, and then you can find someone who does.
David Pogue:
You’re on the Internet. You’re looking for information. You want an opinion, not to sell you a product. Put out a real, non-spam email to a bunch of people. Say what you want, what you’re looking for, and who you are, and be surprised if they don’t respond. I guarantee you you’ll find someone who will. This isn’t a dating site. It’s all about finding people who share your interests. If you’re looking for someone you want to go out with, and so is everyone else on the Internet, go to a bar with friends. If you want to have a baby, you don’t fill out a form and then start calling up strangers. It doesn’t work that way. And online dating? Sure, you’re more likely to encounter someone who isn’t exactly the person you were looking for, or who doesn’t share your interests, but that will be a tiny minority of the people you meet. Get out of the house and meet some people. Who knows, you might make a friend.
Paul Boutin:
There’s a time to play and a time to, uh, play. If you’re not sure, maybe a quiet lunch or dinner at your local restaurant. And if you want to chat, go for coffee. Just don’t do it in a public place, like Starbucks. That’s where the gay people go, and you don’t https://www.cadyintroductions.com/can_i_find_russian_girls_on_hookup_apps_-_get_laid_in_moscow.html
1. You gotta be chill.
There is no such thing as a bad first date—as long as you don’t wear a Madonna mask, beat up a date, or push them away. Once you’re comfortable with who you are and who you’re with, enjoy the ride. Remember: You’re on a date with an actual person, not an Uber. Just try to be as friendly as possible, and don’t try too hard to impress the other person: Remember, this isn’t your first time on the dance floor, and you’re there to just have fun.
2. If someone asks for your number, give them your number.
If a girl asks for your number, just give it to her. Even if she clearly has no intention of calling you, you can always tell her that you need your number back. She may say no, but either way, you’re at least clear. If she says yes, then keep your scorecard locked.
3. Don’t call the other person into your phone—chances are they don’t want that.
So that pesky text you just sent? Maybe you’re not so sure if it was a good idea, but you don’t want to be rude and ask her if she wants to talk in-person. If she sends you a response, just let it go. In the real world, we don’t always want to talk to our phones—unless you’re hitting high F’s with the beeps.
4. Know your online dating game.
Online dating is the way to go. Almost everyone is guilty of the occasional swipe-left or the equally as common swipe-right: you can (sort of) tell from someone’s photo if they’re worth texting first. If it’s been a while since you’ve messaged someone online, or you’re meeting this person for the first time in person, you can show off your confidence and you can use the same tricks (see #7) to make yourself seem attractive.
5. Don’t sweat rejection.
If someone isn’t interested in dating you, that’s fine. You’re on a date, not prom, and just because the other person doesn’t want to be your date right now doesn’t mean you aren’t awesome. Find someone else. You’ll be relieved.
6. Don’t be the guy who’s tired of all the women he goes out with, or the guy who is only interested in this one girl
