Easybox 904 Firmware 307
again, this isnt a knock on beta testers. it is a knock on our lack of accountability. the community is as responsible for our products as we are, if not more so. a good community should always be able to get things fixed for free, and in a timely manner.
so whats the solution? the solution is simple: we need to take away the power to veto a product. make the product team have some skin in the game so they have to think about whether or not they will support the product they have developed. in fact, its a pretty simple solution. gpsmap 63 did have that model. the gpsmap65 did have it. now, get this, the 64 will have it. i think it is in garmind talk. but thats it.
it’s a 5x+ running 16.6 miles in 8:11 am when you do this, you will notice the battery gradually drain, also, the device will do a hard reset and your data will be lost.
the only way around this is to use nandroid backup. but for new users, it is a headache. i would suggest avoiding this behavior of running mode for first few weeks. go ahead, throw at it, but just backup to sd card, and do not count on the device to get the important things like ows (running mode details) or your training log (basically all the training logs you’ll do in the future). nevermind, the issue is resolved. i changed my phone and it worked fine.
finally i got my fw as well (3.10.0). that means i switched to the new pooling method of easybox. this new method has some drawbacks. first, it will track your pool swim (now with swim.state=swim). what about the other activities? strava live segmentation only got the lap you swam and not the total distance. garmin pay does not work as it is. i’m going to change the way my watches back to normal water. there are many benefits of switching from pool to normal mode. i’ll update my review with the new findings. also, i thought some people might be interested in my recent post in easybox forum. i’ve been following so many (not all of them) suggestions in the forum to get my easybox 802 back. but i’m still stuck with the mentioned issues. so i have to ask you to advice me on this. i really need help from you guys. i’m going to try to fix my easybox 802 as i wrote in the following post: easybox 802 firmware issue. i need more help from you guys. thank you.
rarest build so far: no problem, as long as you have 5% battery left you should be able to receive an ip. warning, vodafone dsl-easybox 802 default refresh rate at which it refreshes the dhcp lease on your vodafone dsl-easybox 802 router is 100 ms. don’t know if this is the case with other vodafone dsl-easybox 802 routers but with mine i can ping the firewall (184.108.40.206), but cannot get to the outside, browser, etc., any help would be appreciated. just confirmed this using rstats.vodafone.ie note; if you didn’t have an internet connection when you installed easybox 904 (version 307) then it may not have connected to a router – it may have connected directly to dsl (internet) via a cable socket (as you have a cable splitter you need to remove the red/white cable before you plug in the black). if you only have a single cable connected then the phone will have no idea what to do. simple setup. very easy to use. i only need to connect the usb keyboard to it and pair it with my phone. wow! now the easiest way to set it up was to check that my phone was paired to the network and just connect the keyboard. everything was done in a couple of minutes. within 2 minutes i had my phone connected to vodafone dsl-easybox 802 (vodafone.ie). my headset was connected, and i could start chatting instantly. i now feel more assured than i ever had using my work phone. if you want to change country you have to wipe the phone to factory default, then go into settings and then network settings (this probably could have been a step in the settings), then click to go back to settings, click on device and then click on reset device. now you will be in recovery mode and you should be able to select your country. once you are done selecting your country, click ok to continue, then you should be able to put your network details in the box and connect to your vodafone.ie network. 5ec8ef588b
