Apple could have chosen to use a MagPen touch screen since the hardware itself is already a lot more durable and portable. The touchscreen they used is clearly made for Windows devices, as many of Apple’s iPads are. Apple entirely failed to capture the stylus market. That said, the Chinese influx of electronics is also causing Apple to rethink the way that its gadgets are built – the iPad Pro is a solid 10-12% more expensive than its competitors at around $999. Why not make it somewhat more rugged, too? Maybe it’s just a matter of time.
I’m satisfied with the Smart Keyboard provided with iPad Pro’s purchase, but Apple could have done a lot better, for some of the same reasons listed by Bill in the “Winner” section of this review: Great Keyboard, Poor Battery Life.
