The software will launch a screen that should show the Patch Settings dialog box. Click on the General tab to display the Patch Settings dialog box. The likeliest new Photoshop feature that I can envision is what Adobe calls an in-app renderer. This tool would let you preview a Photoshop document in a new window and make the necessary changes with the Image Adjustment Layers—like curves, levels or hue/saturation—displayed in front of you. The changes could be made directly, and the document would be updated automatically, when you saved it. The insert could be saved in multiple formats, like JPG, PNG or GIF. This tool is not anticipated to replace Photoshop’s built-in renderer, but may complements it. Several of the new features in this review will take advantage of this new feature to provide better collaboration and oversight.
In our production, we typically work using Illustrator for vector illustration and then Photoshop for image editing. Adobe’s new release allows us to use Illustrator for the line work, and then work in Photoshop and/or Bridge to edit the image elements of the artwork (like text, layers, paths, etc). For example, we use Photoshop prior to retouching the work in Photoshop Elements (or for image editing in general). Of course, once completed, the processed artwork is re-introduced back into Illustrator.
